Filbert orchard nut, ripening in late September. There are many brands of nuts available in the supermarket, and the Filbert is very expensive at the grocery store, but can be grown inexpensively with very little maintenance in your garden. The Filbert (Hazelnut) Tree is also called hazelnut in European communities and are one of the popular nuts found under the Christmas tree.
Under good conditions it can grow up to 4-6 feet per year.
