Zwilling J.A. Henkels Knife Block - 20 slots in a handsome hardwood with a natural finish. This piece is in excellent condition. This listing is for the knife block ONLY and does NOT include any knives or other cutlery. The block contains slots for a sharpening steel, kitchen scissors, 3 slots for larger Chef's or Santuko-style knives, 7 smaller slots for blades of varying sizes & lengths, as well as 8 slots up front for everyday steak knives. I do not know which type of wood this is, but I believe that Henkels only makes their blocks from hardwood and laminated bamboo, which this block definitely is not. I suspect it might be a blond oak. Fully loaded with cutlery, Henkels.com states the weight at approximately 6 lbs, so without the weight of the knives included, this block should come in around 5lbs.
