In fact, it's unlikely that it will since it was originally sold as "testable." So batteries had to be connected. I've found vintage items w/ batteries inside that were fine. So it just depends on whether or not they designed them to corrode or not. Yes, they can make batteries that don't corrode but then you wouldn't need to buy new stuff!
