HIGH GLOSS REALISTIC STATUE OF A DOG AT WORK

MEASURES: 18 L X 9 T X 6 W

SIGNED ON THE BOTTOM OF HIS LEFT FRONT PAW: ROZNAN MADE IN ITALY 651 INDICATING THAT IT WAS MADE IN AROUND 1950. THIS IS EVIDENTLY ONE OF THE EARLIER OF GIOVANNI ROZNAN'S WORKS AS THE SIGNATURE WAS LAER CHANGED TO A STAMP WITH THE NAME BASSANO .

Giovanni Ronzan and his brothers founded the Roznan factory in Turin in the late 1930's after he had left his job as chief painter and ceramic modeller at the Lenci factory. During the (Second World War) the factory was moved to Bossano in the Venetto region of Northern Italy. This piece of Roznan ceramic depicts a superb model of the English Setter holding a Mallard Duck in his mouth, being fully modelled in the round.

This is a gorgeous statue and makes an enormous statement. Really a splendid statue! even with the following issues: the Mallard has lost his head. It has been re-touched. ORIG..1600
