The ribs have some minor damage, but the velvet fabric is in excellent condition and is beautiful.

The material is 100% cotton velvet on the front and 100% acetate on the reverse side. The designs on the reverse side (tiger, dragon, etc.) are all printed. The color is navy x navy on the velvet side and silver x black on the reverse side.

This is a special edition that faithfully reproduces the souvenir jacket made by Kōshō Shōkai (the former name of Toyo Enterprises, 1940s-1950s) in the same way it was made back then. Of course, the materials (including the zipper, which has been restored) and manufacturing process have been faithfully reproduced.
However, please note the following regarding handling:
■ Material: The special edition is made to the same specifications as the original, so the fabric is woven very loosely and is delicate. The dyeing is also done with pigment dyes, which were used back then, rather than the reactive dyes that are mainstream today. As a result, the color may not be evenly dyed and may be uneven, fade, or change color due to sun exposure. The wool ribs are also made to the same specifications as the original, using old-fashioned horizontal knitting machines and hand-knitted one piece at a time. These ribs are prone to shrinkage and stretching, and they are not mothproofed, so care must be taken when handling them. ■ Zipper: The 50-year-old fastening machine was overhauled and put back into operation for this jacket, and the hand-bent zipper of the time has been reproduced.
