This is a vintage brass glove display stand, originally used in department stores to showcase gloves. It features three beautifully painted butterflies, each mounted on a spring that allows slight movement. The butterflies can also hold notes, cards, or small hand towels, making it a charming multipurpose piece.
It stands approximately 12" tall and 5.56" wide. The butterflies show chipping in the paint from age, adding to its vintage charm. This is a genuine display piece, not a reproduction. Estimated early 20th century, possibly 1920s, in Victorian style. ALLID Co. was active in the early 20th century and is associated with department store fixtures and decorative hardware.
The base unscrews for shipping; Im happy to send it disassembled to save on cost. Weighs about 1 lb. 3 oz.
