This is an early and hard to find set of beautiful old spongeware plates most likely made in the mid nineteenth century. These plates are blue and white sponge painted with a scalloped edge and raised border scrolling. The backs are sponge painted as well. The pictures show the front and back of each plate.
These are excellent condition given their age. There are very FEW and MINOR utensil marks that that you can see when held to the light.  Other than that, this set is an excellent condition given its over 100 years old.
They measure 8 1/2” in diameter.
There are no makers marks.
