1898 first edition English translation published by Henry Altemus. This rare version was unauthorized by the author and translated by Samuel Binion. Condition is fair with wear typical of books this age, including a few random but small markings on or near the cover. All pages are present, complete, and clean.
The original owner's initials are marked inside the front cover on the first page along with the date Dec. 25 1898 as this was probably a Christmas gift. The title page is disconnected from the binding. There is a 1900 article clipping from the Baltimore American newspaper that was used as a bookmark and has left discoloration on the pages where it has been resting between.
