T.S.&T. Lu-Ray Mid Century Pastels 14” Chop Plate

This Plate is in very good condition, actually like new condition- it has been in storage and aside from a couple of knicks that are/were part of the manufacturing process has no knicks or cracks or chips or crazing, it’s as if it came right out of the store!!Manufactured by Taylor Smith & Taylor in West Virginia. LuRay became their most popular line of dinnerware. They introduced the line in summer of 1938 and it was discontinued in 1968. The line consisted of Sharon Pink, Surf Green, Windsor Blue, Persian Cream and they added Chatham Gray in late 40’s. The pastel colors were in answer to Homer Laughlin’s bold Fiesta colors. The empire shape is used for the Lu-Ray line which was created by J. Palin Thorley, in the mid 1930’s.
