Chiyoda Kogaku Minolta Super Rokkor 45mm F2.8

This is a Leica L39 screw mount lens. It can be easily converted to various mounts for mirrorless cameras. Please feel free to consult with us about mount conversions.

Released in 1948, it was the standard lens for Minolta (Chiyoda Kogaku) at the time. The design is outstanding, and although it's a small lens, the focusing ring is chunky, giving a strong feeling of holding a piece of metal. This style, which was called the "plum blossom crest" (this is the design on the cover), would probably look good on modern mirrorless cameras. The specifications also make it suitable for snapshots, making it a stylish old lens perfect for walking around town.

I have prepared some sample photos taken with this lens.

The 45mm wide angle makes it a true snapshot lens. It doesn't produce very flashy ghosting, but you can see characteristic oval ghosting from light sources. Its characteristics include significant vignetting in the periphery, and while it's not quite "swirly bokeh," it exhibits unique rendering at maximum aperture. The color rendition is also subdued, and if you were to photograph a ruin on a cloudy day, it would be a bit suspenseful, haha. If there is enough light, the contrast is high, but the light source will blur, so it won't be a crisp image, but rather one with depth.

Looking at the condition, it may appear hazy in product photos, but when you see the actual item, there is no such mold or clouding. There are a few dust particles that couldn't be removed and some cleaning marks, but it's clean overall. The exterior is very beautiful, and you can enjoy this rugged design. The operation is also smooth.

If you are looking for a unique lens at an affordable price, or if you are looking for a small snapshot lens with the characteristic look of an old lens, this is the one for you.
