There are words on the back, an expert and I have tried to figure out what it says for hours but we do not know for sure. It could possibly say February or January and the numbers can either be 7226 or 1226. Could be a date? 1/22/6 or 7/22/6. Or it could be a name? We are not really sure. The last photo is a lightened photo and you can read it better
Judging by her outfit and her glasses she is in the time period of 1880s- early 1900s. I found this in the back of a barn in Staten Island NY, the house had been in the same family for over 140 years. The Jones family owned an oyster business in Staten Island NY in the late 1800s and early 1900s. The company was started by Cornelius C Jones. This could possibly be one of their relatives or even his wife Elizabeth Jones. Elizabeth died in 1893, they are both buried at Moravian Cemetery in Staten Island. I have included a photo of their final resting place.
