Stunning! Rare Vintage 1950s Mink Cape -Capelet-Filene's of Boston - UPCYCLE!

We don't usually deal with furs, but the estate owner wanted us to sell this for her. We look at this as a way to upcycle and give new life to a vintage treasure, as an alternative to a new fur. (cross-posted)The estate owner shared history:The owner of this fur was a woman who lost her parents while she was in high school. With the encouragement of extended family and friends she left her small town, moved to the city and found a bit of success. This was not as easy for a young woman then, as it is today.She saved money and treated herself to this cape/jacket and kept this coat as a token of memories and a reminder that she was able to succeed when life was difficult. Filene's Department Store was an institution in Boston, the logo on the label gives us a clear date as the mid to late 1950s. As expected for it's age, there are several small bald spots throughout the coat, we tried to get them in photos, but we had to get up close - there is one on the bottom in front as seen in main photo. It appears the seams are intact, except in one small spot on the upper back the fur has slightly pulled away from the seam, an easy fix but not necessary. There may be a bit of pulling away at the front clasp as well. Overall these are small issues.The cape has two straps to hold it in place, has a collar and is front single hidden clasp closure.
