The Angelic Conversation – Derek Jarman (1987 Japan First Edition) – Rare Film Art Book
This is the Japan-only first edition (dated 12/25/1985) of Derek Jarman’s The Angelic Conversation, published in Tokyo. Closely connected to Jarman’s 1985 experimental film of the same name, the book combines still imagery, Japanese text, and production notes in a distinctive late-1980s graphic style.
The edition was distributed in Japan in small numbers. It was never released outside Japan and is very difficult to find. A valuable collectible for admirers of his work.
This copy was a gift from Editorial Director to the current owner when was published. It still contains an original handwritten note from Moriyama, one of the people thanked in the credits.
Very good vintage condition with light surface/edge wear on the covers, a tight binding, and clean interior pages.
