Poems and Parodies is the first book of poems that Phoebe Cary published on her own; a prior book containing her writing was co-authored with her sister, Alice. In this edition, the author's last name is spelled Carey ; this was corrected in later editions. The book is bound in red cloth boards, with gilt spine lettering and decoration. Some wear to edges and spine ends; inscription on front endpaper; signatures slightly loose. A scarce copy of this early work of the popular poet. 200 pages, plus advertisements; approx. 5 x7 .
