Since the end of the 1980s, John Petrucci has pushed the limits of progressive metal. He has always been loyal to Dimarzio and the LiquiFire is the microphone he currently uses and equips his signature Music Man model. As the name suggests, the DP227 is a very versatile, "fluid" and singing microphone. Its response in the treble is warm and soft while its bass response is straight and clear. The overall sound is therefore remarkably balanced and works equally well for fast distorting solos as well as for complex clear-tone chords.
