Artisans in the Bolgatanga region of Ghana weave these beautiful and durable baskets from thick, tough elephant grass. A smaller bolga basket is a very popular size for children, green shoppers, busy mothers and picnic planners worldwide. Bolga baskets stand up to use, practical, sustainable, remain functional, and beautiful for years. Handwoven in Ghana made from local elephant grass. Each basket is one of a kind, with hand dyed colors, and a unique pattern. The leather wrapped handle adds to the durability. This Bolga market basket gets its name from the region of Ghana where abundant veta vera grass is woven to create these hardy, useful African baskets.
