  • 💦Dwarf Egyptian papyrus (Cyperus isocladus) is a semi-aquatic, grass-like plant known for its striking, umbrella-like green tufts atop sturdy, triangular stems. Growing 1.5 to 3 feet tall, its a compact, non-invasive version of the towering original papyrus. Its unique texture and tropical feel make it an excellent choice for contained water features, such as water gardens, aquariums, and terrariums.
  • 🍃Cyperus isoclaudus is sterile. It does not produce viable seeds and is non-spreading. However, our recommended best practice for all plants of this genus in warm, tropical outdoor landscapes is to plant in clearly defined, well-controlled, containerized environments.
  • 🤗 Care: This plant thrives in warm, moist to wet conditions and can tolerate some standing water. It is more lush and full when grown in partial light shade. Maintain consistent moisture levels and remove spent stalks when they mature. Plants benefit from thinning and dividing as they age.
  • 🏠 Indoor Growing: Dwarf Egyptian Papyrus performs well as an indoor plant. It is well-suited for terrariums, aquariums, water features, or as a potted plant placed in a saucer of water and pebbles. It is a very versatile plant that adapts well to a indoor conditions with adequate light and warm temperatures.
  • 🌡Climate: A semi-aquatic plant that can generally survive the winter outdoors in USDA Hardiness Zones 9 through 11. However, general use as an in-ground planting in tropical zones is not recommend for any plant of this genus. Suitable for indoor growing and over-wintering as a potted plant or annual in colder zones.
