A remarkable, museum-quality piece, this neo-Gothic Ziborium is crafted from gilded brass. Adorned with numerous glass beads and intricate details, its magnificent vault rests on the Corinthian capitals of four columns. Fleurons and spires contribute to its cross-topped, heavenward ascent. Created by goldsmith FAVIER fils based on a design by Bordeaux architect Jean-Jules MONDET, their names are inscribed on the base of two columns. With extraordinary dimensions of 295 cm on a square base of 56 cm, and a width of 66 cm at the canopy, some parts may be missing, but the gilding is in good condition. Truly a cathedral piece.
