Kicking off our trio of demo team JETs this year is a standout piece! We're thrilled to present a rudder from a former Blue Angels A-4F Skyhawk, unearthed at a scrapyard last year. Originally painted in Blue Angel Blue, it bore remnants of the original yellow tail number: 6, the Opposing Solo. From 1974 to 1986, the Blue Angels operated the A-4F Skyhawk, replacing the larger F-4 Phantom II. This compact, agile jet allowed for tighter formations and more dynamic aerobatics. The team modified their A-4Fs with smoke systems and removed equipment to enhance performance. Pilots and fans alike adored the Scooter's small size, reliability, and spirited performance. In 1986, the Skyhawk was succeeded by the F/A-18 Hornet.
