BC Battery Controller offers a unique 100% Made in Italy range of battery chargers/maintainers that are among the safest and most advanced on the market. It performs fully automatically 8 charging cycles and can be used for maintaining and recharging batteries used in automotive, motorbikes, scooters, cars, camping, powersports, gardening and ‘deep-cycle’ battery applications. In this range we find the BC BRAVO 2000, a battery charger and maintainer that with its maximum charge current of 2Amp is designed, thanks to an automatic algorithm without having to select anything, for complete maintenance of all types of conventional 12V batteries, from lead-acid to AGM, from 1.2Ah up to 100Ah. Recharged much faster than normal battery chargers, the battery with BC Battery Controller products can last up to 8/10 years and also functions as a battery and alternator tester, can repair sulphated batteries, recover 1.25V batteries (lowest level on the market) and is designed for use with vehicles equipped with ‘micro-hybrid’ start/stop systems. Driven by a state-of-the-art microcomputer, BC BRAVO 2000 not only monitors the safety and efficient recharging of the battery, but also automatically minimises energy consumption and guarantees a high level of protection thanks to its spark-proof system and its protections against overloads, polarity reversals and short circuits. Fully automatic, it can remain connected to the battery 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week, so for months, even years in a totally safe manner, and thanks to its two-colour livery, simple design and compactness and manageability, this product is super light and really suitable for everyone. Despite its compactness, it has a very robust shell that prevents it from slipping and makes it resistant to scratches, falls, accidental crushing, UV rays and water (IP44). The product comes with convenient clamps and mounting eyelets that can be left on the vehicle. Thanks to the intuitive backlit LCD display for perfect night vision, BC BRAVO 2000 provides information every 10 seconds on the battery voltage and the running cycle. The product is covered by a 3-year warranty and premium factory service, given the very few cases handled. CHARGING ALGORITHM - CHARGING PROGRAMME The battery charger is internally controlled by a microprocessor that monitors the state of the battery in real time and automatically performs 8 charging cycles. - Stage 1 - Initialisation: checks that one or more cells are not short-circuited and that the battery is therefore in a condition to be charged/recovered. - Stage 2 - Recovery: if the battery is in an extremely discharged condition (from 1.25V), the device attempts a recovery, to bring it back to higher voltages compatible with the next stage. - Stage 3 - Light Charge: if the battery is significantly discharged, the device delivers a pulsed light current to the battery, to overcome the critical stage. - Stage 4 - Main Charge: during this stage the charger delivers full current to the battery, which can recover up to 85-90% of its capacity. - Stage 5 - Desulphation/Absorption: during this stage, a ‘controlled overcharge’ is provided to the battery that can restore the remaining 10-15% of the battery's capacity, through desulphation/recovery of the lead-acid cells (for mild to medium levels of sulphation). - Step 6 - Battery Analysis: the device interrupts the current supply for a few tens of minutes and verifies that the battery is able to retain the charge it received during previous charging cycles. The test is repeated at regular intervals. - Stage 7 - Maintenance: thanks to a specially designed electronic circuit, the device maintains the battery's charge during periods of non-use, without overheating, overcharging and water/electrolyte leakage Phase 8 - Equalization: during long-term maintenance, the device performs an equalization charge every 30 days to rebalance the battery cells, avoiding electrolyte stratification phenomena.
