The Directed DSM550 SmartStart Pro 4G LTE GPS Module lets you use your smartphone to not only remote-start your car, but to locate it, lock or unlock it and so much more using the Directed SmartStart app. However, to remote start, your car must already be equipped with a compatible remote start system. SmartStart Pro is optimized for use with the Directed groundbreaking DS4/DS4+ platform and delivers scorching speed with 4G LTE connectivity and futureproof design to ensure support for new features as they are developed. It uses a simplified, 1-piece wiring harness for faster, cleaner installs. The module is plug for plug compatible with existing installations. A 1- to 3-year subscription to a SmartStart Secure or GPS Premium service plan is required. For example, Secure features include showing you the car's location and will alert you if it moves from a designated location. Upgrading to the Premium service plan also lets you set up a geo-fence zone or alert you if you enter a forbidden zone. The app itself also displays your car's status—like locked, armed, running or door open.
