This beautiful and rare Anne of Green Gables 16 porcelain doll was purchased by my parents for my birthday. Not sure what year the doll was made or when it was purchased. I do know that it was purchased after PBS aired the series which could have been in 1985. It was designed on Prince Edward Island by George and Maureen Campbell, relatives of LM Montgomery, author of Anne of Green Gables. It is an Anniversary Kindred Spirits Collection doll with a porcelain face, hands and feet with stuffed body. Anne comes complete with straw hat, faux leather laced boots and brocaded faux leather strap handbag. She is displayed on a metal and wooden base stand. The base has a lovely engraved plaque that reads “Anne of Green Gables”. She has the original Certificate of Authenticity numbered 106 of 1200. The number printed on the back of her neck says 106 of 1500. This doll does not have her original presentation box. She comes from a pet/smoke free home.
