As a result of the climatic conditions of southern Europe the lemon has become a symbol of Mediterranean culture. A fruit with a peculiar, elongated shape, it has a rough, vibrant yellow rind that contrasts with a more translucent, crystalline interior of a paler color. Inside, the segments are surrounded by small opaque white membranes, creating a circular pattern characteristic of citrus fruits. The lemon is made up of contrasts: sour and bright, opaque on the outside and crystalline on the inside, vibrant on the outside, pale on the inside, bitter on the palate, but widely used in sweets. All these characteristics have inspired us to develop the Lemon collection. The pieces are made according to Bordallo Pinheiro’s naturalism, with a high level of craftsmanship, both in modelling and painting, but always with a contemporary and up-to-date approach.
