Faithfull FAIPRS Piercing Saw (Jeweller's Saw). The Faithfull Piercing Saw, often called a jeweller’s saw, is essentially a smaller version of a coping saw. It is fitted with an extremely fine blade and is specifically designed for cutting thin sheet metal up to 1mm thick such as aluminium, copper, brass, gold and silver. The steel frame is adjustable to accommodate different blade lengths allowing broken blades to be re-used. A lubricant such as beeswax can be used for smooth cutting performance. Depth of Bow: 70mm Blade Length: 130mm (5in) The top screw is for getting the length of the frame right to suit the blade. It is not for tensioning the blade. You can tension the blade by fixing the handle end first then as you would use a junior hacksaw put the other end against a bench and close the gap up between the two clamps by 1-2mm then tighten the blade to the other clamp so that when you let go the frame will tension the blade
