Truly gorgeous and absolutely wrecked antique black lace dress that has about the weight and tensile strength of a strand of cobweb. I'm confident that this is pre-1940 but not by how much; my mom (bless her) thinks this is from the late 1890s but I think she's dreaming. It is literally the first black dress from this time period I've ever encountered that will fit an average-size modern person—check those measurements, baybee, it's not like most vintage and intended for someone who was 4'11 and ate two scant meals of gruel a day.
