This is a hand painted almost 19" charger from the Edo period 1603 and 1867 . The seven spurs on the bottom indicate it was made anywhere from the 17th to mid 19th century. It is in superb condition. Any areas that look like there is missing paint is just glare from light. It has the rooster and hen theme. The rim is quite different as it is scalloped and tapered. There is an old sticker on the back that came from an antique shop in Japan. An amazing piece of art.
18 7/8" in diameter. No noted defects but please look over pictures as they are part of the description.
