RARE 1870s Stereoview Penn Railroad New York Emigrant German Immigrant Depot.
The original 1870s photo images show the Pennsylvania Railroad Emigrant Depot just behind the port of New York where trvel steamers landed. This station was for German immigrants to travel to Pennsylvania after being processed. Many of the original founders of Pennsylvania were German so it was a popular place to settle for the newly arrived Germans. Part of the photo of the depot is written in German so the immigrants knew it was the P.R.R.
