These belonged to my great grandma.. shhh don't tell my mom I'm selling. But this is too AWESOME to be kept in the drawer.
Back in the day, the only way for communication other than face to face was the good old Pony Express! If the postman was at the door and you had to get an urgent message out or just had to jot down a quick reminder note, you were ready! The pencil hung from a brooch and retractable chain. The top pops off to refill with lead, the first mechanical pencil! The stamp box I'm not sure if it was always a necklace, but it would make it handy! Both unmarked sterling silver. These are probably around the late 1800s.
